Xray. Setting up client apps

For this article you'll need a ready vless://… link or QR code — the panel generates them for every Xray user, in the expanded row of the list, via the Link and QR code buttons. If you don't have a user yet, start with Xray quick start.

Windows

Main app — InvisibleMan XRay Client, file InvisibleManXRay-x64.zip; project site — invisiblemanvpn.github.io.

⚠️ Xray-windows-64.zip is not a client

If you downloaded Xray-windows-64.zip from github.com/XTLS/Xray-core — that's not a client. Xray-core is the engine the server runs on, and it's also embedded inside GUI client apps, such as InvisibleMan XRay Client. You don't need to download it separately: xray.exe inside the archive is a console program that needs a hand-written JSON config, not a vless:// link. The panel's link is understood by exactly that kind of app — it contains the same engine inside.

  1. Download InvisibleManXRay-x64.zip from the link above, unzip it, and run Invisible Man XRay.exe. There's no installer, and none is needed.
  2. Copy your vless://… link from the panel.
  3. On the home screen, open the configuration list — when it's empty, the screen says there are no configurations yet.
  4. In the window that opens, click the "+" button — its tooltip reads "Add new configuration" — then choose "Import from link" and paste the copied link.
  5. Open "Settings" via the icon in the bottom bar and turn on the "Use system proxy" checkbox — without it, system traffic isn't routed into the tunnel even when the app shows a connection. Instead of the checkbox you can switch "Mode" to TUN, but that installs a network driver and requires administrator rights.
  6. Go back to the home screen and click "RUN" — the status changes from "Stopped" to "Running".

If you'd rather have a regular installer than an archive, Windows also has Hiddify.

Android

Main app — Hiddify on Google Play.

  1. Install the app from the link above.
  2. Copy your vless://… link from the panel.
  3. On the home screen (Home) tap "+".
  4. Tap "Add from clipboard" — the link is added automatically.
  5. Tap the connect button in the middle of the screen. Android will show a system prompt to set up a VPN connection — confirm it.

If Hiddify doesn't work for you, Android also has Happ on Google Play.

iPhone and iPad

Main app — Streisand from the App Store.

  1. Install the app from the link above.
  2. In the expanded user row in the panel, copy the vless://… link with the Link button, or leave the QR code on screen — you'll need it in the next step.
  3. In the app, tap "+".
  4. If you copied the link, the configuration is picked up automatically. For the QR code, choose "Scan QRCode" and point the camera at the code on the panel's screen.
  5. Turn on the VPN for the added profile. iOS will ask permission to add a VPN configuration — allow it and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.

If Streisand isn't available in your App Store, install Happ Lite instead.

macOS

Main app — Happ from the App Store.

  1. Install the app from the link above.
  2. In the expanded user row in the panel, copy the vless://… link with the Link button, or leave the QR code on screen.
  3. In Happ, tap "+" in the top-right corner of the home screen and pick a way to add it — the app supports pasting from the clipboard, scanning a QR code, and a deep link. If the configuration isn't picked up automatically, use "Manual Input": paste the link and tap "Done".
  4. The server appears under "Server List" — select it and turn the VPN on.
  5. macOS will ask permission to add a VPN configuration — confirm with Touch ID or your administrator password.

If Happ isn't available in your App Store, install Happ Lite instead.

Checking that the VPN works

Open myip.com in your browser. If everything is set up correctly, the page will show your server's country.

If it doesn't connect

  • Check the Enabled toggle in the collapsed user row in the panel — a disabled user's vless://… link doesn't work.
  • In InvisibleMan XRay Client, the status can show "Running" while your external IP doesn't change — traffic isn't routed into the tunnel. Turn on the "Use system proxy" checkbox in settings, or switch "Mode" to TUN (needs administrator rights).
  • If you're using Hiddify instead of InvisibleMan and turned on TUN mode: restart the app via "Reboot as administrator" — without administrator rights TUN won't turn on.

⚠️ ISP restrictions

Traffic encryption makes a VPN a reliable way to protect a connection, but in some countries and regions internet providers actively interfere with VPN protocols. Because of this, full availability of the service cannot be guaranteed — regardless of the connection type. If one protocol does not work for you, try another VPN module available in the panel. If none of them work on your network, contact support and we will issue a refund for the license.
